Solution
A metaphorical natural landscape aims to surprise the visitor with the feeling of being outside inside. A landscaped central area became a ‘hanging garden’ accentuating the height of the mall and a series of ‘sculptural trees’ clustered in different areas shoot up from ground floor level. Kiosks, bars, interactive directories and sculptural seating flow naturally within the landscape, providing areas for visitors to plan, pause and reflect. Bridges and walkways create dynamic punctuations of the space.

Paris
The brief
Our job was to develop the design of the interior space of a 62,000-sqm mall outside Paris. The mall is exclusively dedicated to furniture and home furnishing.
A space of such proportions offers enormous possibilities for designing a memorable shopping experience, connecting the shopper with the outdoors, creating a sense of calmness within a highly active retail experience.
Our approach
The mall aims to surprise the visitor by bringing the outside inside. A landscaped central area became a ‘hanging garden’ accentuating the height of the mall while a series of ‘sculptural trees’ clustered in different areas shoot up from ground level. Kiosks, bars, interactive directories and sculptural seating flow naturally within the landscape, providing areas for visitors to plan, pause and reflect. Bridges and walkways create dynamic punctuations of the space.
