Harrods Unveils New Home Department

January 24, 2020

London department store Harrods has unveiled its new Interiors department, which hosts home goods and furniture on one floor for the first time. Crafted by Virgile + Partners, the new department evokes a residential quality as it guides shoppers through a range of vignettes dedicated kitchens, bedrooms and more.

Located on the third floor, the space is lined with subtly toned marble doors along with pervasive patterns of herringbone, chevron and basket weave. The open layout comprises 25 interconnected room scenes that highlight the diversity of products featured through the naturally illuminated department. Cast plaster cornices and mouldings reinstate a sense of historic elegance, while structural columns are reimagined with a variety of bespoke decorative panels.
